Number 101
My last post was number 100! Approximately 100 posts in a year is not bad.
In the last couple of weeks I managed to finish my wall hanging!
I also got the first set of borders sewn to Lucas's tea mat (right). The quilt on the left I haven't touched in months and it only needs to binding sewn on. Luckily, it's a Christmas present so I still have some time.
I finished my paper piecing for the Yardbirds Circling the Cat pattern.
I also had the good fortune to come across some used quilt books at a school media/bake sale and old issues of Quilter's Newsletter and American Patchwork and Quilting at a garage sale!
Then this morning I nearly had a heart attack when I opened up my backpack to remove my students' exams and saw that I only had blank exams. Yesterday afternoon, I had stopped by the department office to drop off the extra exams to be shredded but it turns out, those were actually my students' exams! I was frantic this morning, despite Lucas's attempts to calm me and was utterly grateful when I called the department right at 8 and found out that they were safe and intact. I think I'm ready for a vacation now.

Paper piecing is fun, isn't it? The range of things you can do with little pieces and getting perfect points is really great. I really like that block, I can't wait to see the finished product!
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I am having a great time with paper piecing and had no idea it would be this fun!
I'm excited to finish the quilt and will definitely post a picture when it is finished. I have a sneaking suspicion it may take me another month or two to complete.
