I'm pleased to share with you the completion of a couple of things that have been in progress for a while.
I started this cardigan last July in a sweater class and I'm so glad to have it finished!
While I was seaming it up, I told myself that if it didn't fit, I was going to hang it on my wall! It felt like I completed a masterpiece and I wasn't even the one who designed it. :)
The pattern is Flutter Sleeve Cardigan by Pam Allen and is from a past issue of Interweave Knits. I used Sublime Organic Cotton DK and I loved knitting with it. I won't bore you with the details of my modifications but you can read about them on my Ravelry project page here, if you like.
My other big sigh of relief came from finishing a quilt. Yes, a quilt!
I can honestly say that my quilting mojo disappeared over the last year or more and I just wasn't excited to sit down at my machine like I used to be. This quilt didn't make things any easier for me--it fought me every step of the way. I started this last May or June as a graduation gift for my friend, Brittany. She graduated in August. I just gave it to her a couple of weeks ago. *blush* Luckily, she didn't know she was going to be receiving it.
The pattern for the quilt comes from American Patchwork and Quilting. Appropriately enough, Brittany gave me the subscription as a graduation gift! The pattern is called Pink Lemonade. Obviously, I altered the color selection, as there is no pink in this quilt. I quilted the center in the ditch and did free motion swirls in the outer border.
I've been feeling my desire to quilt coming back after I completed this one and have started a new quilt in bright colors and I am really enjoying it. I have a few other finishes to share but will save them for an upcoming post.
Enjoy the spring weather!
