Another Quilt Finished!

You wouldn't think a quilt so small would take 2 or 3 years to finish but it does when you don't work on it!  Huh.

This quilt pattern comes from the book Fat Quarter Quilting.  I had the top finished quilt a while ago but couldn't decide how I wanted to quilt it and whether I wanted to quilt by machine or hand.

Strange but true: I had this quilt sitting on my design wall for some time.  I had photographed it.  Then I pulled it out to baste it and noticed that some of the hour glass blocks were facing the wrong way!  How did I not notice before?  Sometimes I leave mistakes alone but this wasn't a difficult fix and I knew that every time I looked at the quilt, it would irritate me.  Much better now!

I had plans to hand quilt this 1/4" inside all the seams but the hand quilting wasn't going well.  I ripped out the stitches and made a new quilting plan for machine quilting.  Plan B worked. :)

This is Quilt 2 of 4 that I committed to finishing this summer.  Back to work on my Tile Quilt and my Improv wall hanging!

This turned out so sweet! Isn't it funny how you can look at things for so long and never catch mistakes? I do that with typing all the time...makes me grumpy :o) Glad you found the rotated blocks in time to fix them!
